SBN Volunteer Program

Volunteering for the Student Biotechnology Network is a unique opportunity that requires energetic, committed individuals who want to become more involved with the SBN. Our volunteers are the backbone of SBN events, enabling us to fulfill our mandate to inspire, educate and connect students. Moreover, it gives volunteers the opportunity to gain an insight in the Biotechnology field.

What are the benefits of volunteering with SBN?

  • Reference letters provided by SBN management
  • Reimbursement of SBN membership should you complete 4 volunteer shifts or once you complete 4 shifts, SBN will give you a complimentry SBN membership
  • Volunteer appreciation event at the end of the 2010-2011 SBN season
  • Increasing you social circle within the biotechnology community
  • Meet fellow students as well as peers who are involved in the same program and who share similar goals
  • Access to special resources relevant to the various Biotechnology companies as well as events

What you need to know to become part of our SBN Volunteer Team

  • You must be able to commit to a minimum of four shifts during our season
  • You must be out-going and comfortable dealing with the general public
  • You must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism with all aspects of your volunteer position
  • You must be able to commit to to the fall training session (Fall 2011 date to be announced)
