Creating A Buzz About Science
28-Mar-2011Creating a Buzz about Science
The Province is encouraging British Columbians to get excited about math and science by proclaiming the 2010-2011 school year to be the Year of Science. Already B.C. is recognized as a world leader in research. Organizations such as Genome BC and TRIUMF use science to change our lives and the world for the better. The Province continues to support this culture of research innovation in B.C. by highlighting the rewarding career opportunities that science offers.
Good News! Science is an Advantage in The Global Job Market
As you consider your career options, you will find that many rewarding careers require an education in the sciences, math and engineering. The most recent BC Labour Market Outlook shows that employment demand for science -related occupations will increase over the next 10 years. One in every eight job openings will be science-related, making an education in science and math extremely important to B.C.’s youth and economy!
