Since intellectual property (IP) protection in biotechnology can be challenging, it is of utmost importance to have knowledge of the tools that exist for protection of your ideas. SBN has organized a seminar focusing on IP for our network members and any interested individuals. The event will be hosted at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan campus, as part of our Exploring Biotech lecture series. IP is the cornerstone of the biotechnology industry and it requires careful consideration and attention. Dr. Alaka Chatterjee, Partner & Patent Agent at Gowlings Lafleur Henderson LLP, will provide an overview of the patent process and discuss the steps that scientists, patent agents and IP lawyers should take to protect innovations.
