World TB Day 2011

For the second year in a row, UBC and BCCDC have teamed up to present an interesting program on World TB Day, and we hope that you will mark the date in your calendars. From 10:00-12:30, a symposium featuring talks from five local TB researchers will be held in room 1416 of UBC's Life Sciences Centre, and from 3:00-4:00, there will be a keynote address in Life Sciences Centre Lecture Hall 3 by Pam Chedore, head of the mycobacteriology/TB lab at the Ontario Agency for Health Protection & Promotion, who will be speaking on "Strengthening TB Laboratory Capacity in the Developing World: Challenges and Opportunities".

The day will also feature a poster session from 9:00-3:00 in the LSC West Atrium, with a $250 cash prize for the best poster. If you would like to submit a poster abstract, please email your abstract to Santiago Ramon Garcia at ramon@interchange.ubc.ca

The deadline for abstract submissions is March 12.
